Stellite Alloy 6B is a cobalt-based alloy used in abrasion environment, anti-seize, anti-wear and anti-friction. The friction coefficient of alloy 6B is very low, and it can produce sliding contact with other metals, and in most cases it will not produce wear. Even if no lubricant is used, or in applications where lubricant cannot be used, 6B alloy can minimize seizure and wear. The wear resistance of alloy 6B is inherent and does not rely on cold work or heat treatment, so it can also reduce the workload of heat treatment and the cost of subsequent processing. Alloy 6B is resistant to cavitation, impact, thermal shock and a variety of Corrosive medium. In the state of red heat, alloy 6B can maintain a high hardness (the original hardness can be restored after cooling). In an environment with both wear and corrosion, alloy 6B is very practical.
Co | BAL |

Usually use cemented carbide tools to process 6B, and the surface accuracy is 200-300RMS. Alloy tools need to use 5° (0.9rad.) negative rake angle and 30° (0.52Rad) or 45° (0.79rad) lead angle. 6B alloy is not suitable for high-speed tapping and EDM processing is used. In order to improve the surface finish, grinding can be used to achieve high precision. Can not be quenched after dry grinding, otherwise it will affect the appearance
Alloy 6B can be used to manufacture valve parts, pump plungers, steam engine anti-corrosion covers, high temperature bearings, valve stems, food processing equipment, needle valves, hot extrusion molds, forming abrasives, etc.
